I've always been a believer that shipped is better than perfect — Learn from the market, and not fall into internal analysis paralysis. Here's some work that I've built out for friends, angel investments I've made, or just helping small teams move quickly and validate their concepts in market.
YYZ Mortgage
Created automated video posts to TikTok with daily mortgage rates (built a scraper for this). I improved upon prior work to better generate 60fps videos for TikTok.
Improve my knowledge of web video codecs, improved how headless chrome instances launch in Docker so I could record screen captures with rates, prices, calculating mortgage rates, etc. I'd be happy to walk you through the codebase to show you how I did it.

Stllr Gold (TSX: STLR.TO)
Created automated video posts to Instagram stories with daily prices for various assets like Gold, Silver, USD/CAD, USD/EUR. I ended up writing a wrapper around ffmpeg and deployed it to a DigitalOcean instance with a scraper for asset prices.
This was a fun little side project to try my hand at web video codecs, headless chrome to launch a web page to then record a screen capture. Dockerize a Nuxt app, and a lot more.

Nubz.net
I built out a Nuxt JS app for a barter marketplace. This is purely a listing site with profiles, chat, and a realtime home feed for trades. This took roughly 45 hours to build out and I got to play around with Supabase, server-side rendering, realtime chats, using Sendgrid to send out emails (eventually switched to Postmark for emails as the volume is pretty low and their free plan is generous).
If you want, I can sell you this codebase so you can spin up a listing site in like 1 day instead of spending weeks on it.

Reconcile
Reconcile originally started off as a B2C product for a voice assistant that tracked Amazon returns and the refund system around that. Eventually the team saw a bigger opportunity in the tax space and started building out both a B2C and B2B automated tax system for stock and crypto trades.
I built out their design system, early landing pages, and coded some of their application (React).
2020 - 2021

Yield
This was a major innovation for the Ethereum ecosystem to bring zero coupon bonds on-chain. Originally we built out a B2C product, and eventually saw demand from funds and larger FIs to utilize receiving fixed rate interest. Unfortunately the team decided to stop working on the product as demand was't substantial enough.
I created their design system, and helped the engineering team with UI implementation in React and on-chain.

Moves
Moves is a financial services platform for independent “gig” workers. Without relying on outdated credit scores, Moves' products are designed to get to know their users better over time, and help them establish a new financial reputation.
I designed their MVP product (Android app first), and figured out making frictionless UX for loan applications.
